Jesus came as the One greater than Jonah, for Jesus is not merely a prophet, but the beloved Son of God.  In rejecting the message of Jonah, the Ninevites will face severe judgment of God.  How much more would the consequences be, if we reject the gospel Jesus brings.  For we would be rejecting the Son of God, the only way for salvation. 一个比约拿更大的人已经来了，他就是上帝的爱子耶稣基督。尼尼微人若拒绝先知约拿的宣告，他们将面对严重的后果。如今，我们若拒绝耶稣带来的福音，我们更要面对上帝的公义忿怒，因为耶稣的福音是唯一能够拯救我们脱离这困境！

John the Baptists began to doubt Jesus was the Messiah despite earlier being so sure. This was because Jesus did not meet John's Messianic expectations. To people who are tempted to fall away because Jesus does not meet their expectations Jesus says, as he said to John, "Blessed is the man (and woman) who does not fall away on account of me." Jesus sends out the 12 disciples on their mission to the towns of Israel. The mission will be marked by rejection and persecution, and Jesus encourages his disciples with the providential care of God. Jonah ran away from God. But, God did not give up on him. Through disaster, God brought Jonah back to Him. Was God forcing Jonah to return to Him? Why did God orchestrate the event? God did not need to do so, but, because of His love and mercy, He wanted Jonah to come back to Him. Today, God has also prepare for us salvation, awaiting for us to go back to Him. 约拿逃离神的面。神藉着灾难，使约拿回到祂面前。为何神要这么做呢？因为神是有慈爱和怜悯，他不愿意约拿离开生命的源头。同样的，今天，神也为我们预备了救恩，等待我们回到祂那里去。
